TIME ROLLS ON
In Germany, round birthdays (those ending in 0) are really big. A friend we have known for 9 years celebrated her 50th the beginning of September. We were also invited to this special event. There were over 50 people present. We knew no one other than the couple that invited us in the beginning. There was coffee and cake to begin with, then we bowled, after that there was a huge buffet followed by fun games and music, some very old east german music we had not heard before. We got to meet many new people. As the evening progressed, people began to pull William aside to ask questions about "Why you are not drinking?", "What and who are Baptists?" "I am a heathen and do not believe in anything I can not see!", etc. The Lord opened so many doors and opportunities for us to talk and witness to these people. Many are wanting to get together with us again and learn more. Sven and Andrea are one couple who want to get together to further discuss a relationship with God.

TIME IS UP
Summer break is over and it is that time again to resume school. Because of the ever decreasing dollar, we could not afford a vacation this year. We did take a day to go to the largest Amusement park in Eastern Germany, as they celebrated their fifth year of being open. Of course, their large park is nothing in comparison to the Amusement Parks in America, but we all had a blast riding on the rides and viewing some of the shows. Willi is in 12th grade "Gymnasium", which is the equivalent to the sophomore year in an American College. This will be his final year. Stefan is the 10th grade of "Realschule", which is similar to 12th grade of an American High School. This is also his final year in school. Phillip is in the 8th grade of "Realschule". Heidi is in the 3rd grade. With the beginning of school, we have costs that occur - School supplies, school workbooks and Bus tickets. Since we have no "school buses" in Germany, the children must take public transportation to school. At the moment only 2 of them have to take the bus because of schools being combined so that it is now too far for them to just ride their bikes to school. The school year ticket sells for ca. $225 per child.

TIME FOR CHANGED LIVES
During the six week summer break, both the Power-Kids and Power-Teens groups remained very well attended this year. It is good to see our Power-Teens group growing and bringing friends! Some of the friends do not live close enough to be able to come every week although they would love to. Please Pray for these young teens as they hear and learn from God’s Word and experience changed lives.
