What is a Christian?
Willi, our oldest son, invited the parents of the twins (15 years old) that attend Power-Teens so that we could get to know each other. Andreas and Suzanne were at first skeptical as to why we would want to talk with them. As we talked, things began to thaw. We visited with them for over three hours. They said their girls, Laura and Sara, really enjoyed the Power-Teens and the music we sang. Suzanne was surprised when her girls told her, their favorite songs were Christian songs. Andreas mentioned that they were "Christians“, but only attend church once a year. Their idea of a Christian is being baptized and confirmed in a "state church“. Pray for this family as we work with them on what a true Christian is. Andreas is only home on the weekends because of his job.

What an opportunity!
Our children had two weeks off in October for Fall break. We took that chance to go visit "Oma and Opa“ (Grandma and Grandpa Garrison). William was able to preach twice that weekend, once at the Bible Baptist Church in Darmstadt and in the afternoon to the spanish speaking church that started out of Bible Baptist many years ago. It was a blessing for Kathleen to see some of the spanish teenagers she had grown up with, still in church and serving the Lord in leadership capacities now.
What Grace!
As we have mentioned before William‘s parents are not very well. William‘s mom has been bed ridden since this summer, due to her back condition. She had surgery two years ago to straighten her lower spine that had twisted and fallen to the side. Now further up the spine, the same thing happened above where they did the surgery last time. She was finally able to have a partial surgery done to help straighten and re-screw the spine together on the 17th of Oct. In preparing her for surgery, they found that she had developed blood clots, so they had to put a filter in before surgery. They also discovered that new tumors had developed on her upper spine. She had chemo and radiation on this a couple years ago. As soon as she is recovered enough from the back surgery, she will be moved to the cancer ward to see how they will deal with these tumors.
Please continue to pray for Betty and Gary Busch and God’s continued grace in this trying situation. Betty lost her sister to cancer earlier this year.
