March 2009
Bible Seminars
As reported in our January letter, we began holding our Bible Seminars. The first one was to help understand what the bible teaches about the church and what our church believes and teaches. With so many nationalities attending our church, we wanted to get everyone on the same page. Over 20 have taken this course, from that 4 have been saved and 7 others have expressed the desire to join the church.
Baptisms
In January and February, we baptized 3 people. With all this growth, our building has become too small and the rent was going to be raised again this year! By faith, we had to give a six months notice back in October 2008, that we would be moving out at the end of our contract in March 2009. The people have gotten excited about bringing their friends and we have new visitors almost every sunday.
Blooming
A young lady from Africa visited the end of February and commented to several of our regulars, “I have found the perfect church for me”. Another young man from India contacted us after he had only been in Germany three days, looking for a church where he could worship. They have been there every service and helping where they can.
Buildup
For the month of April, we will be meeting in a 4 star hotel (Maritim Konferenz Hotel) in two conference rooms with seating for 150 in one room and 50 in the other here in Darmstadt. William was able to negotiate a good price for the use of the rooms on sunday mornings and that they would allow us to serve our own coffee and tea. We are so thankful to the Lord for this “problem” of growth and excitement!
Since our move to Darmstadt, many of our appliances that were already 13 years old are beginning to shut down, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer (the weather does not always cooperate to hang out the clothes). If you could help us in these areas, we would be greatly appreciative!
Serving Together,
William, Kathleen and Family
