Looking Back
Although our plans were to stay in Dresden and to plant multiple churches in this region, along with training many more Christians and leaders, the Lord has closed the door for us in this area. Just as Jesus had great times working with those who were seeking the truth, He also had those times that people closed themselves up to Him. Jesus sadly observed that he could have done great things in certain towns, but residents did not welcome him, so he moved on to another location. In fact, Christ advised his missionaries they must be prepared to "shake off the dust of their feet" and find places of greater receptivity. God’s Spirit will direct us to an area that is in need of him. (Acts 16:6-10)
Since coming to Dresden in 1995, we have seen God work miraculously in many lives. We have seen lives changed. We have seen many saved and over 35 baptisms in the 13 years that we have been in Dresden. We peaked with over 150 different people weekly attending one of our 7 different locations in Dresden, Freital, Freiberg and Leipzig. Although most are spread out over the globe now, most are still serving the Lord where they are.
Looking Forward
We are looking forward to our move to Darmstadt. The church has many new Christians who need to be strengthened and discipled. The US Military Installations in the Darmstadt area are currently shutting down. We will be losing some good families, but God has been blessing with new english speaking families. We will also be looking forward to adding German services in addition to the English Services. In Fact, for Easter we will be doing an English / German Easter Service.
Looking Up
We are continuing to look to God our supplier. He always comes through when we are not sure if we will make it, especially financially as we continue to see the dollar weaken. We want to thank each of our churches, who sent a Christmas offering this year! The Cards and care packages also made this Christmas special!
